What ever happened to cartoon network?

as a kid i enjoyed shows that were simple and clever (PPG, courage the cowardly dog, ed, edd and eddy, robot jones, fosters home, toonami, cartoon fridays, dexters lab) whats with these knew shows though? its almost like they are trying to dumb down kids, just look at the amazing world of gumball, or the problem solvers, whats happening, was the station bought out or did new animators get hired
